Swing Dance Somatics: Connection Perfection
Join us for a unique, cozy workshop designed to elevate your dancing skills through deeper body awareness and refined movement. This is an invitation to explore your body, movement, and the quality of your dance on a whole new level.
By tuning into your own body, you’ll enhance your connection with your partner. Through guided solo movement explorations and embodied exercises based on the Body-Mind Centering® (BMC) approach, we’ll build an embodied understanding of the essential concepts for partner dancing, including:
- Body Center – Moving from a place of balance and intention
- Frame – Cultivating a dynamic and responsive connection
- Grounding – Finding stability and flow in your movement
This workshop will help you become more aware of how you connect with your partner, making your dancing feel less tense and more pleasurable. By finding a solid, continuous flow in movement, you’ll develop a connection that feels both secure and dynamic.
Expect a mix of floorwork (barefoot or in socks), mindful movement, and direct application to dance. The mix of approaches in this workshop will leave you refreshed rather than exhausted. It is a truly pleasant and effortless way to exercise and develop your dance. Wear comfortable clothes, bring warm layers and socks if needed, and get ready to experience your dancing in a new way!
The teacher of this workshop is our guest resident teacher from Vilnius, Lithuania Kamilė Pundziūtė.

Being at the core of the very first team of dancers in Vilnius she has been a pioneer in many artistic, educational and community building projects, such as creating and performing jazz dance theater plays and shows, initiating and organising international jazz dance and music festivals Harlem and All Lithuanian Weekend, programming the curriculum for Lindyhop.lt Club dance classes and many others.
Following her degrees in psychology (BC) and education science (MA) Kamile has worked as a dance and movement therapist and somatic educator for more than a decade.
The great variety of skills and an impressive amount of experience in different movement disciplines make her a master teacher, bringing concepts of movement and jazz dance to a whole new level. A knowledgeable approach coupled with an honest, joyful perspective of life is attractive for students, who value her insight and ability to patiently bring progress in every class. Her knowledge and skill has been appreciated widely in the world in workshops and teaching residencies.
Kamile reflects, “I find a workshop successful when next to new shapes and moves I see progress in movement quality and control. When I can see that students feel more at home in their bodies while tackling progressively difficult material. I’m happy to integrate the most effective methods from different disciplines to reach that.”
