Welcome to Swing Dance Luxembourg, where movement, music, and community come together for an enriching dance experience. Our courses are designed to foster the joy of dance while focusing on the essentials—groove, fun, and the quality of movement. Whether you’re looking to enhance your social dance skills, deepen your understanding of musicality, or connect with the rich history of Swing Era dances, we have something for everyone.
We’re excited to welcome you to the upcoming Fall 2024 semester! This semester, we are welcoming Kamilė Pundziute as resident teacher for the entire semester !
Kamilė Pundziute is a real gift to the Vilnius Lindy Hop community. She’s been keeping it swingin’ since 2003 – the very B of the Bang of the Lindy Hop explosion in Lithuania. Being at the core of the very first team of dancers in Vilnius, she’s been a pioneer in many artistic, educational and community building projects. These include creating and performing jazz dance theatre plays and shows, initiating and organising international jazz dance and music festivals such as Harlem and All Lithuanian Weekend, programming the dance class curriculum for the Lindyhop.lt Club and many other successful endeavours. At Swing Dance Luxembourg, we pride ourselves on a collaborative approach, bringing together local talent and our resident teacher to offer a diverse and dynamic learning environment. Our classes are not just about learning steps; they’re about becoming part of a vibrant community where everyone can express themselves through dance. Join us and discover the rhythm of your own dance journey!
This semester, we are continuing our commitment to the “everyone leads and everyone follows” (ELEF) approach in our Lindy Hop classes. This approach allows all dancers to learn and experience both leading and following roles, promoting a deeper understanding of the dance and its connections. Additionally, we aim to address the challenge of long waiting lists for single followers during registration periods.
We will retain one mixed-level course for those with at least one semester of experience who wish to focus on a single role. However, for all other Lindy Hop courses, you will no longer be required to designate yourself as a leader or a follower during registration!
In our Blues courses, you can register in one of three roles: Leader, Follower, or Switch. If you register as a switch, you’ll have the flexibility to choose your role for each class individually.
We’re excited about the inclusive learning experience that ELEF brings to our Lindy Hop classes and can’t wait to see all of you on the dance floor in Fall 2024. Get ready for a semester full of new discoveries and endless fun!
