Let’s swing into this new semester with enthusiasm and gratitude for our incredible teaching team!
Alexey, Anna, Anton, Ingrida, Maria and Philip are going to teach this semester courses. Want to find out more about them ? Here we go:
Anna: “One of the most beautiful things you can say to me is that I look happy when I dance. And oh (wo)man is that true! 😊 While dancing has always been a big part of my life, it’s in Swing that I’ve found a home for the deepest parts of my soul. There’s something truly magical about it – it’s groovy, playful, and full of joy. It brings out my silliest self while also opening the door to deep, meaningful connection with others. Being able to share even a fraction of that joy through teaching is a true pleasure.”
Anton: “After being dragged to a Lindy Hop taster in 2015 – an experience I would describe as mildly traumatic as a tall guy with the flexibility of a garden rake – I figured swing dancing just wasn’t in the cards. But curiosity got the better of me in 2017 and that second chance turned into a rabbit hole I gladly tumbled into. Before long, I was a regular on the social dance floor, happily lost in swing-outs and soaking up every bit of Jazz culture I could find.”
Maria: “I started dancing swing in Luxembourg in 2021 and I immediately felt a deep connection to it. Dancing is for me a means of self expression and communication. Sharing the joy of music and rhythm with the other dancers is one of the most special things I can think about. This is what brings me to teaching: after all, dance is all about fun!”
Philip: “With a fresh approach to Lindy Hop, I bring enthusiasm and creativity to the dance floor. My goal is to inspire others to find their rhythm and enjoy the playful spirit of swing dancing.“
Ingrida: “I fell in love with swing dancing back in my university days and haven’t stopped since! I’m one of the founding members of Swing Dance Luxembourg asbl, where I volunteer as a teacher and help spread the joy of Lindy Hop. I’m all about good music, good vibes, and good footwork — I love swing tunes, DJing at social dances, and diving into the rich history of the jazz era. For me, it’s not just about the steps — it’s about the community, the connection, and the pure fun of dancing together.”
Alexey: “I started dancing in 2013, initially diving into boogie woogie. I spent those early years traveling, dancing, and exploring other styles like Lindy Hop as a fun addition. It didn’t take long for me to fall in love with jazz, and my curiosity also led me to try balboa. Since then, I’ve danced in every city I’ve lived in, and the joy of swing has always stayed with me. I’ve always felt a desire to share this passion, and teaching is my way of giving back to the community that has brought me so much happiness.“
